Heavy Gunner
Soldiers!
For many years now, Warface has been in combat against enemies in every corner of the globe. The soldiers endure harsh trials every day, as the enemy is well-trained and well-equipped: their armory includes bulletproof shields, long range sniper rifles with laser sights, grenade launchers, Mech 2300s, time-tested KA-50 helicopters, and, of course, the Heavy Gunner. It’s this last one that we’re going to discuss today.
Development History
When Blackwood forces started active military operations in the Balkans and Middle East, they didn’t meet with serious resistance—that is, until Warface got in their way. By personal order of Oberon White, substantial work began in the engineering division at headquarters. Their new development was based on the EOD9 suit (we’ll talk more about this later), which then had additional armored components added. The helmet design was also modified with an updated life support system. This reinforced armor could now protect against even a direct hit from a high-caliber rifle! But this led to a new problem: what was not a lightweight suit to begin with now weighed 160 kg, which made it too difficult to maintain active operations.
Following lengthy discussions, a decision was reached to implement an experimental exoskeleton into the suit, which, combined with a unique hydraulic system, allowed for easy control of the heavy suit and operation of a rotary Gatling gun. This engineering marvel is powered by a large power unit on its back, which is essentially its only weak spot: if it is destroyed, the automatic systems break down and the Heavy Gunner falls, unable to continue military operations.

The Heavy Gunner in the real world
Did you know that the Heavy Gunner is not a fictional character? It’s based on the EOD9 bomb protection suit, made of nonflammable material with layered kevlar armor components.
This equipment provides excellent protection against explosions, shrapnel, and open fire, not to mention melee weapons. The helmet is equipped with a bulletproof visor and breathing system, and filters and light appliances can be added. The EOD9 suit includes a communications system, cooling apparatus, portable water supply, and additional equipment for working with chemical and biological threats. This suit has proven itself well and is used now in many countries.
